As an environmentally conscientious business, Fairfax Saddles Ltd is aware of the potential impact saddle making may have on the environment. We embrace sustainable development as a guiding principle within our work and acknowledge that concern for the environment is an integral and fundamental part of this commitment.

As an organisation, we are committed to ensuring that we:

  • Identify, quantify and reduce our carbon footprint and off-set our emissions through carbon neutral projects.
  • Minimise negative environmental impacts within the financial constraints of the business and fully consider these impacts when making decisions including the supply chain, design of products, and end-of-life considerations.
  • Invest in energy-efficient buildings and technology, improve energy management, manage business travel and influence colleagues’ behaviour in order to reduce carbon emissions.
  • Raise employee awareness of Fairfax Saddles Ltd.’s environmental and sustainability risks, influence and encourage environmental and sustainable behaviours and identify and provide appropriate training to enable employees to play a full role in implementing this policy.

Where appropriate:

  • Use energy, water, materials and other natural resources as efficiently as possible, giving particular regard to the long-term sustainability of consumable items.

  • Ensure that new buildings and refurbishment projects comply with relevant building regulations.
  • Use environmentally friendly products.
  • Arrange for automatic shutdown of equipment at an agreed time each evening and fit time clocks on items of equipment which are not required to be powered up 24/7.
